  for the ones that are in the same house ex. Couple? I would send to the both... but for others at other locations, or not couple etc, I would thank individually... but that's me...

  If it's a couple living together, I would send one card addressed to both of them.  If it's 2 people living together as roommates, send each an individual card.  If it's a couple not living together, you can either send individual cards or you can send a card to the person within the couple that you know best (ie if the couple were to break up, who would you invite to the wedding).  If none of the people are part of a couple, I would just write them individually.

  I had a cousin and her mother gift me a gift together, because my aunt was not able to attend. I sent them both a thank you card.

  I would give each person one...just to recognize all of them.
