A messge for CrazyBeautiful

For some reason I am unable to send PMs so, sorry everyone.

I noticed you booked your ceremony at IP in the SilverSky Chapel and that you were able to use your own CD at no additional charge. I'm wondering why thy quoted me $80 to bring in a CD? Did you get a larger package? They suggested I go with the a la cart. Who is your planner?

Thanks.

We got the $850 package, plus we added our own photographer.. My coordinator is Iliana. I didn't even know they offered a la cart!! We picked our package because it had everything we wanted and the least amount of extras (we won't even drink the champagne lol). Not sure about the charge for the CD... Maybe since we swapped it for the pianist that was included? Who is your coordinator?

  • Ok sorry to barge in but they did the same thing to me charging me $80 for the sound system hook up. My coordinator is Veronica.

  • Really!? Did you choose a package or a la cart? I made sure to ask if it would cost extra and she said no.. I wonder if they changed their policy or something since I asked... Hmm I received one email from Veronica then Kristen then when I called I spoke to Iliana and she became my coordinator. Lol it was confusing!

  • I bet they didn't charge you extra because you are booking the larger package. I was only going for the smaller 2 packages (the highest of those is $349, i think). So if you spend more money, they might be more willing to compromise?

I think it was a guy that responded to me and told me about ala carte being a better option for me. I didn't know about it either. We want to use our own photog as well. Markel was the last name.

    They said:
$150 additional for our own photog.
$80 additional for your own CD
$150 additional for your own bouquet...bringing my total ceremony charge to $505, I think. Still not bad, but I will use whatever bouquet they give me for $150 savings.
  • Dang, maybe I shoulda done a la cart. With our photographer vendor fee and taxes it came out to almost 1200. Maybe they are more flexible with the larger package.. I wanted to bring my own flowers but when she told me it was $150 I was in shock!! I found a super cute bouquet on eBay so I may just order it an use it for pics after. Did you see the prices for floral upgrades!?!

  • I honestly didn't even think about floral other than the bouquet and, no, I didn't see the prices. I don't even care about flowers....GASP! I know...They make it look pretty, but I'm on a tight budget. What is the decor for the standard packages?

Where in Northern Cali are you? I'm in Sacramento.
  • Lol I didn't care about flowers either til I found an awesome black, fuschia and white cascade on eBay. Totally non traditional, but I love it!! I know some of their flower upgrades are over $200, and I didn't think that were even that pretty! The decor for the chapel? They have two trees with flower pomanders and some flame less candles.. I think that's it besides the up lighting.. I don't think there are any flowers unless you add them, and once I saw $200 bouquets, I stopped looking! Lol I'm in the Tracy area, not too far away!

  • That's funny. I have a friend in Tracy. OK, thanks for the tips, sister. I'm fine with the pomanders and flameless candles...

ps: WTH is a pomander? hahaha!
  • Lol like a ball type thingy.. Only reason I knew wth my coordinator was talking about is from looking at the DIY board, a lot of the girls on there make tissue paper pomanders... Otherwise, I woulda never known! I like how simple the IP chapel is.. I'm not into frills and flowers, but I looooove the lights! I can't wait!!!

  • Ditto, baby. Not into frills, but love the lights and bling factor. Where's your reception? We were thinking of leaving the IP chapel, taking a DD bus for a couple hours, having it drop us off at the Cosmopolitan for a buffet dinner at Wicked Spoon and then up to the Wraparound terrace suite for cocktails, music and whatever else! Does that sound lame? Budget determines everything and this is the cheapest (still fun) option I've come up with.
  • Doesn't sound lame at all!  We have not decided on the reception yet..My daughter will be 2 by then, so that's kind of making things difficult.  The DD bus would be fun, but in order to take the baby we would have to lug around her car seat, and she can only ride in the bottom.  So to avoid car seats and stress, we were thinking of doing an in-suite at Caesar's or Flamingo [although they don't have any decent sized rooms..], or maybe just eating at the buffet at Flamingo so that we're close by our rooms..

I haven't even looked into Cosmo, is it really budget friendly?  Maybe it would be worth dragging a car seat along! lol

  • Do either of you have an email for someone at IP? My email bounced back when I tried to email the generic one. Also, I looked into Cosmo, loved that idea but their F&B minimum seemed somewhat high. Others on here have said their F&B min were less,so not sure why mine was higher. I am planning a Tuesday wedding, so you think it would be cheaper.
  • I'll have to check what the email is and let you know. Did you submit the wedding request form online on the Flamingo site? They book for IP as well..: I received an email back within a day, then responded to that and a coordinator responded within a few hours.
