Photog??'s

1) Has anyone heard of Images by Liz? www.imagesbyliz.com
If so what did you hear or think?
She is offering me 600 for an hr including roughly 100 images with rights on a disk.

2) Who was ur photog and what was the rough amount you spent on him/her?

We really don't know if we want to splurge on this because we are not picture ppl, but then I don't want to go back regret that I at least didn't spend something on it.
Any thoughts?

    Wow. That's super pricey.

I paid about 1900$ for 7 hours, all images on disks (about 1000 of them), plus an index book (and she brought a second shooter with her). Now, that was a 2008 price.

I think she was charging about 250$ an hour... but I know her prices have gone up since we booked her. So, I don't want to speak for what she costs now.

She has done several weddings on other islands! She just did one on Lanai and did this insanely gorgeous one on Kauai in 2008 (it was one of the reasons I was so booked her - and her style has grown sooo much since then).

Just shoot her an email - she's really friendly and won't mind answering a million questions.

Yeah, that price is way out of control. You can get absolutely amazing photographers for MUCH cheaper. Here's where I insert plug for Shawn Starr or Frank Armondo.

Most Maui photogs that I looked at advertise $500/hour a la carte, but you can get much cheaper deals with packaged, negotiating or even Oahu photogs (including their travel).

I love frank amodo!  We're hiring him for 7 hours for around 3,000.  :) can't say enough good things about him :).

My photog is $2000 for 8 hours. That is here in the states, but am flying her to HI with me for our wedding :) Love her to death. $600/hour does sound a bit high, check around, look at packages.

Note: Joanna's prices are WAY more than this now.  Not astronomical, but not the screamin' deal that Alyson got.  :)

(ETA: I still think she's totally worth it, though)

Ditto to what Carrie said.  I know Knottie's love Joanna, but her packages are (in my opinion) super pricey too these days.  Since we're sharing pricing info, the last time I inquired, her prices were 1 hour for $500 and packages were:
    4 hours for $2,600
    6 hours for $3,600
    8 hours for $5,600

Talk about inflation - Alyson, you're so lucky that you got such a steal!  I'm jealous!  :)  For brides still looking, I think Aihara Visuals offers very reasonable prices and high quality photography.  Check her out:  www.aiharavisuals.com.  She often second shoots with Joanna and she's super nice too.  HTH!

    Thanks everyone!
It does seem a bit high to me even her 2hr packages, they were about 1650 I believe.

A great Kauai photographer is Naomi Wong.  She is really fun and personable.

Our wedding was super small, so our package was small and sorta custom.  She could easily give you a quote for your particular needs.

  • I had gone through the site. The experience with the photoes by Liz in Hawaii was experienced by my friend but not yet by me. I heard about it when my friend was explaining about it. Could you please provide attachments about the prices and all the details regarding to it??
