Accrylic Nail Removal

Hey there! Well, I got fake nails for the wedding, and now they are too long to function properly and I can't have them at work. I am thinking about going to a salon to get them removed. Has anyone done this? Or suggest a good way to do it at home? Thanks!

The last time I had acrylic nails, I let them grow out as much as I could stand, and filed down the length using a rough grit sanding block (could use one of those salon emery  boards, but I had a sanding block).  When I couldn't take it anymore, basically I pried them off my nails one at a time using acetone nail polish remover and one of my little fingernail clipper type cuticle trimmers.  It hurt a lot, but I know that salons will charge you to remove them, and the one time I did that, they basically did it the same way, just clipping off chunks of the acrylic.
