MoJEAUX

Contrary to what you may have heard, the band Taboo IS NOT the band Mojeaux!! Mojeaux performed at our son's wedding last month and was INCREDIBLE!!!! The "member" that left Mojeaux and began Taboo is obviously spreading vicious and false rumors about Mojeaux. The reason I know this is because that "member" performed at a bridal show with Taboo and tried to sell me on his band. What he didn't know is that I had Mojeaux already booked and after I heard an earful of negative comments and accusations, I chose to investigate it myself. Needless to say, Mojeaux performed the wedding better than I expected. Their replaced talent is BAR NONE! So be be very careful of what you hear because Mojeaux is obviously being sabotaged by their former member.

I contacted Mojeaux and I found their representation to be pushy, bossy and inconsistant with what they were telling my fiance and I. It felt like a "hard sell." Later on, I found out they had fired almost the entire band and replaced them with new members. However, I'm glad they worked out for you. Maybe they just weren't right for us.

Mary just signed up to scream this to us about a band? What mother of the groom does this? That's right, they don't. Fake post by an obviously bitter bandmate. Keep your drama to yourselves before you both ruin your reputations further.

I agree that this person is a fake poster who is affiliated with Mojeaux band. She is trying to ruin the new band Taboo. She just created her profile on the knot yesterday. I called Taboo this week inquiring about the band and the recent name change. The leader of Taboo band is Mike Taylor who is the original lead singer of  Mojeaux. He said that Mojeaux fired him and a few band members, so they started a new band called Taboo. He also said the new band Taboo has 8 members including himself and 7 other members who used to play for Mojeaux. Therefore, Taboo Band is majority composed of the same members that were in Mojeaux. We have just decided to book Taboo since they are the same members who comprised the band Mojeaux. I've been following this band for a while and they sound great. However, we didn't book them because Mojeaux was really expensive, but Taboo gave us a great deal. I can't wait for them to perform at our wedding in May 2012!!!!!

My cousin is planning his wedding and had hired Mojeaux, he heard about all of this as well through his wedding planner, and I called the manager.  This is what is going on,the people I know in Taboo are:
Michael Taylor, Ken Thomas, Jenny Guthrie, another female singer, and I the keyboard player Jerry Flash..(there are others but they are not associated with Moeaux)  Michael and Ken were regular Mojeaux members, they are the ONLY regular Mojeaux members that are now in the band Taboo.  Not 7 members.  Jerry was in Mojeaux a long time ago and quit.  Jenny and the other female singer were subs in Mojeaux but not regulars.
Mojeaux still consist of the same line up as it did before with just a new front man and drummer.  Just 2 people...not a difference at all.  One thing I do know is that when you get into the music scene of New Orleans almost every person has played in more than one band in the area.  It is a very small world.
They are both great bands. If you want to check up on my account, it was created more than a day ago.

I had a rather disturbing experience with Mojeaux as well. I contacted them in January of 2011 regarding them playing at my nov, 2012 reception. I e-mailed them to see if they had my date open and  I asked what their prices were and what was required to set up a contract. I was replied to within 24 hours stating that the date was OPEN  for the evening but they had an engagement earlier in the day that shouldn't conflict with my reception and they could set up an appointment to sign contracts. I replied within an hour requesting an appointment to pay deposit and sign contracts. I never heard anything else. After two weeks of not bein responded to I received an email saying they were booked that evening now but could I move my reception to earlier in the day. I was LIVID!!! Why would you not contact me back for two weeks and then tell me that in the mean time you booked my time and date!? That may have been information that the booking ahent shared with me in the beginning ."As of right now it is open but I do have another bride considering that same date/time so you may have to move quickly"  would have been nice. And how early did you want me to move my reception!? You told me you were booked in the evening and booked in the afternoon so you want me to have my wedding reoception in the morning??? Who Does That!?  No I will not move my entire wedding around to accommodate you!!!! I was done with them and found another WONDERFUL BAND who is even more cost effective and even more talented. If you havent seen GROOVY 7 live you must!!!!!! I would imagine Mojeaux's booking agent is going to cost the band plenty of business. And I was also told by other brides that the members of Mojeaux they thought they were booking were not the members that showed up. They apparently will split the band to do more shows but you don't get  the same sound as when they are all together and they are charging you the same price as when they are all together. WHAT A RIP OFF!!!!
