  Congrats on booking. A lot of people do an insuite reception at Mandalay Bay. With 30 people you definitely can do that. We are having our rehearsal dinner at Lupo in Mandalay Bay, the food and beverage minimum for a private room is 4k. Other restaurants are similarly priced. If you want to go the restaurant route look at Mandalay Bay's website and get their group dining contact. They have been very helpful.

  We used the Opal package at MB and we were very happy with how it turned out.  After the ceremony, we took our guests to dinner at Rumjungle, which is (sadly!) now closed.  However, there are several other restaurants that are very close to the chapel.  Border Grill is a popular choice and I've heard they're great to work with.

  I had to pass by Border Grill because they were just too expensive for our big guest list. But their food sound AMAZING! They're very close to the wedding chapel. They are very nice to work with.

  CONGRATS!! we are looking at doing the opal package with valley of the falls. i think we may have the same number if not a few more guest wise, so looking at restaurants etc was very pricey also it didnt include much on the beverage front and we then had the dilemma where do we go after dinner?
  this is why we have chosen to do the in-suite option supplying all our own beverages and getting an outside caterer.

  I would suggest in-suite for you. I wish we could have one but with our guest list it would have been impossible. Get it catered and get a bartender and have fun! It would be a much cheaper option rather than having to spend a bunch on food and beverages at the restaurants!

  Now looking after the photographer, and then on to food... where are people getting catering, and what kind of food are youall getting! It's a pity I only plan on getting married one! I'd be a pro the second time around!!

  ha this is very true Chick2011!! i am going to use masterpiece cuisine as reccommended off the Knot. i have emailed Scott and he has been sooooo helpful! and they are very reasonably priced i would 100% definately reccommend looking at them. all the contact info is on his website!

  I am also getting married at Mandalay Bay this September.  I am aslo looking for reception ideas and will have about 30 guests.  I am having trouble finding an affordable place to have a dinner afterwards.  The cheapest Mandalay Bay has offered so far is the Bayside Buffet for $26.99 a person plus a $150 facility fee.  Does anyone know of something cheaper?  It doesn't have to be at Mandalay Bay, but nearby would be great since everyone is flying in and won't have cars.

  We got married at Mandalay Bay and rented a double decker bus to take a tour down the strip. The bus dropped us off at Caesars and we had a dinner in the Lago Buffet there.
  (Great food!!!! The flank steak is out of this world! All of our guests had never been there and could not believe it was a buffet. Our server was very attentive to our group and the chef even came over to congratulate us!)
  Our photographer was Heidi Ryder - whom I LOVE! Heidi was so easy to work with, flexible, affordable, and our pictures are amazing!
