  Since your wedding is 2 years away, take the next 6 months and just enjoy being engaged.  This time is so short so savor it.  Then set your budget.  Once you have your budget you'll be able to start planning.

  If you are paying for most or all of the wedding, I would set a budget now and figure out a plan of how much to save each month so that when you start your marriage the debt is minimal. If it's realistic to save $200 or $300 a month for 2 years you can budget a wedding for  $8-10,000 and be almost debt free...especially if your familiies pitch in a bit It may suck to not have that winter vacation or concert tickets now but once the day comes you'll be happy you saved.
  
  Also, dont choose your bridal party until closer to the date...friendships either strive or waver during the planning of a wedding.
