Paper for Boarding Pass Invite?

Hello ladies! For those of you that made your invitations, what kind of paper did you use and where did you get it from?

I am doing the boarding pass invitations, and wanted to use a shimmery white or ivory. I went to Michael's, and all they had was plain white, and I couldn't find the coral I was going to use for the jacket which  I found a few days ago either. Grrr.

Also, what thickness would you all recommend?

I went to Office Depot to print out my niece's birthday invitation, and I may go there to print the invites for the wedding rather than do it at home because I found out that they cut it for free. AND I have a coupon!! They have a shimmery white paper, but it is not very thick.

Re: Paper for Boarding Pass Invite?

  • I would recommend using a thick cardstock...  Thin paper would not hold up as nice.

When I did mine I bought my paper from a local Archiver's store because they had the colors I wanted and I'm an instant gratification type of person and didn't want to wait to order them... HOWEVER, now that I need cardstock again I will be ordering them.

I recommend this site:  http://www.paperandmore.com/metallic_cardstock_champagne_107.html I ordered envelopes from them and their price, shipping times and selection is great.  Not sure if they have the coral color you are looking for in pearl/metallic though.

I got the cardstock for my actual invitations from Office Max and got super lucky because it was not supposed to be on the shelf so the manager gave it to us for 5 dollars a pack when it should have been like $60,  If we wouldnt have found that then I would have used the site Jen mentioned.  I bought my navy paper from them for my envelopes and that paper was too thick to go through my own home printer but was really nice... just an FYI!

Thanks so much for the info! I went around to AC Moore, Office Depot and Staples to see if I could find anything. Anything that was metallic was too thin, so I will just order online!

What size envelopes did you use for the invites?

Thanks again for all of the help!!

  • I got all my paper from Paper and More. It's all been great and nice prices, too. You can order samples of everything for really cheap, as well.
  • I got my paper for the passes from Michaels. It was a metallic gold 60# and worked great! Then used 25# wasau paper for the sleeves. It all fit and only needed one forever stamp!
