and I did great! I am exhausted today and there were a lot of little things about their wedding that drove me nuts (their planning, not mine), but in the end, they are married! here is what i learned for my own wedding:
i will not make my family and friends set up the night before/morning of the wedding. i want them to relax and be guests.
i will take time to have an official rehearsal dinner. pizza while you're hanging lights and a thank you on the fly are ok, but it would have been so much nicer had we just sat down for 20 minutes.
i will meet with the priest and organist ahead of time so they have everything/have practiced before the rehearsal.
i will pad my schedule by at least a half hour for getting ready (this the bride did very well).
i will not ask my friends and family to stay to clean up decor, put away tables and chairs. that was brutal.
she and her lovely husband are married though! and she's happy so that's really all that matters!
