bouquets cost?

hello all! i haven't been on this board til now... i'd like to ask a honest question: how much should i expect a bouquet to cost? i am on a very tight budget and am not sure how much is appropriate. ideally, i'd like to have calla lilies, some roses, a few sunflowers, maybe gerber daises... all in the orange/red/yellow variety since i am having a fall wedding next year. this would be for myself and my 3 BMs. what should i expect??

let me know, thanks so much!!! :)

I would post this on the local board for your area as costs vary greatly from region to region.

In my area, a bride's bouquet runs around $150 and BM's anywhere from $45+ (mine were $65).

This is definitely something that is going to vary depending on the area. It also depends on what flowers you go with and what is in season.

I think my bouquet was about $120 and the BM's bouquets were about $50.

If you are on a very tight budget I would go to a craft store and purchase silk flowers.  Some of the flowers you mentioned can be expensive so I would suggest getting those in silk.  You could also mix real and silk flowers if you do not want all of your flowers to be silk.

For my area, it's safe to say that a BM bouquet runs around $60-75 and a bridal boquet around $100-150.  You can go higher or lower depending on area, time of year, type of bloom, and how much your florist wants to charge for labor and set-up.

But don't despair if $60 is too much.  I had one florist quote me for an all-hydrangea bouquet for my BMs for $30.  So you can definitely go lower.

Here's my comments on your flowers:
    calla lillies - usually expensive
roses - usually inexpensive, but there's literally hundreds of types, so check with the florist
    sunflowers - usually inexpensive
    gerber daisies - usually inexpensive

Other (usually) inexpensive blooms are mums, hydrangea, alstroemeria, carnations, gladiolus, Asian lillies.

If you have a huge and knowledgeable crew of friends who are ok with working hard for you to make, arrange, set-up, deliver, etc. I would suggest ordering wholesale from Sam's Club, then making some arrangements yourselves.  For example, maybe you will have your florist do the personal flowers, but you could decorate the church and reception.  That saves some people money.  Or you can DIY the whole thing.
