Aisle decorations - rose petals

Hey y'all, saw this picture on Pinterest and was hoping to have a similar look, but a little less.  I went to order some silk rose petals but then I realized I have NO idea how many to get!   http://pinterest.com/pin/67624431874830654/

I was thinking of ordering 2 packs (200/each) of purple and 1 pack of wisteria (to match the colors of my bridesmaids bouquets) from here  http://koyal.com/assets/images//silkrosepetalcolorchart800.jpg

Any advise would be greatly appreciated! :)

I looove that look.  We married on a deck of the ocean so it was too breezy for free petals and, instead, I hand glued petals all over 6 inch wide ribbons.  Same effect!

Anyway, I got the petals from www.petalgarden.com. They have a little info section that suggests how many petals you need for the coverage you want.
  • We did that at our wedding, just a little bit of a thinner line than what is pictured in your link. We ordered 6000 real petals and that was enough to cover the sides of the aisle (which was long), the front steps, fill in the two fountains on the property, border around the cake stand and they were used in 13 centerpieces.

  • I had petals down the sides of the aisle at my ceremony - it was outside and the venue required that they be real petals so that they could be mowed into the lawn after we were done. If we used fake, someone had to go pick them all up. So I had my florist provide them. I believe she used 2000 petals. It wasn't completely solid like your idea, but it still looked great.

  • I am doing the same, however I do want mine a little more solid that what is pictured. I bought a bunch of packages containing 100 petals each, opened six of them, then laid them out in a line like I wanted and it measured about six feet. So for mine it will be about 100 petals per foot. But as I said, I want mine to be a bit more solid looking than what is in your picture (they could have been spread out more and still looked great though), so it will probably be a little less than what I used to achieve the look you want. Hope this helps!
