  We went last year to start collecting how much the wedding will cost.  There are tons of deals if you sign up at the show and tons of vendors.  We didnt sign up with anyone cause we didnt have a date yet, but we felt like we had a productive day. we found our wedding planner through the show, and did get a discount on tux rental cause of it.

  I think that it can be very helpful.  If nothing else, you can get a lot of info. in a short time. 
  My suggestions would be:
       Bring a bag to put stuff in 
       Bring a bottle of water
       Wear comfy shoes
       Bring address labels
       Don't give out your phone number unless you like a LOT of
            phone calls.
