Happy Valentine's Day

What are you and your FI doing today?

I'm not much for V-Day.  I tell FI please don't spend $$ on flowers for me, just not my thing I guess.  He did pick a couple chocolates at a local candy shop in lewiston which we are having for dessert tonight. ("Cheesecake bombs" they sound yummy!)
Otherwise, low key --  Some NCIS and a glass of wine.  Works for me!

    FI sent me flowers at work...that I was totally not expecting!  I also made a few things for him on VistaPrint from pictures I took last summer at a concert for his favorite band.  I also did a "poster" print of Portland Headlight (my avatar picture) since that is where we are getting married.

    We got some yummy steak tips from The Meat House.  That's about it for our celebration!

    We went up to Portland last weekend for some wedding stuff and had a nice dinner out, and called that our Valentine's dinner.  He surprised me with some roses tonight and I got him frog prince cuff links from Red Envelope that he is going to wear at the wedding.  When we first started dating I called him my Prince Charming and he thought I said "Pastrami".  It's a big inside joke for us now, so I thought the cuff links were perfect!  :)

    We agreed not to do gifts this year (we live in IL right now and are flying home in March to finish up some wedding plans so the plane tickets are our gifts!) but FI surprised me with a beautiful pearl and diamond necklace to wear at our wedding, we spent the rest of the day cooking dinner together and hanging out with our puppy

    It was 40 degrees here today, hang in there Maine brides I hear the warmer weather is heading your way too!

    We didn't do anything.  He did get me flowers.. but I told them I wanted them.. nothing fancy just pretty flowers for the kitchen table & I got him a card :) We just bought the house and are getting married in 4 months.. I don't have money for frivilous holidays Wink

    It was that warm here today too!  Got in my car after work at 4:00 and the temp on my dash said 48°!

    Sounds like everyone had a great day! FI greeted me at the door tonight with a bouquet of different roses and lillies...so pretty! We exchanged small gifts since we're paying for our wedding. Then we ordered chinese from our favorite place and watched some Boston Legal (one of our favorite shows). It was a really nice night!

    p.s. Chrispygal - I think that those cufflinks are super adorable! I've thought about buying them too. Good pick!

    I think it's the little things and going out of your way for the other person that makes the day so special.  :)   Although the necklace sounds nice too!  haha.  I got earrings for Christmas to wear for our wedding, and they already have that sentimental factor for me.  :)

    We ate at the Back Bay Grill.  It was very good.  We also like Fore Street Tavern.  I heard multiple raves about The Grille Room though, so we might try that next time.  I really wanted to try Street & Company, but FI is not a huge seafood person.  Oh, and we had the best nachos ever at Gritty's.  Yummo!
