QOTD 5/15

What is the most tacky thing you've seen for a wedding?  Or what is the most tacky thing someone has tried to push on you for your own wedding?  I'm in need of a chuckle today. :)

I used to work at a store where we did custom invitations.  I had a bride place an order for her wedding invitations (not even an extra insert!!) and right at the bottom of her invite she had us print "Because we live in a home that has alerady been blessed, monetary gifts are appreciated."  I tried to convince her to not print this and explain that it was against every etiquette rule I had ever heard.  She still didn't care.

    cschuma, that is hilarious!

Probably the worst that I've seen was this AWFUL cheesy DJ.  He had us clap about 298374928 times during the reception... like, in the MIDDLE of the first dance.  He'd say things like, "Let's give a hand for the photographer and videographer!" in the middle of dinner.  And then during hte dancing, he was SINGING in the microphone along with the music.  Hilarious looking back, horrible at the time.

My grandparents just had their party for the 50th wedding anniversary today and I was talking to my aunt that said she was invited to a potluck wedding.  Bring your own food!

A pot luck wedding??  HAHA  The couple better not have been registered anywhere like they expected a gift too.

I received an invitation to a destination wedding less than a week before the wedding was going to take place.  Yeahhhh, I don't think I will be able to make that.

My boss didn't want to accomodate all the guests at one time. So she staggered the time of the reception (dry, appetizers only)  so the "A-list" invitees would arrive for the ceremony and would be there for the cake cutting.  The "B-list" invitees got different invitations for them to arrive right after the cake cutting.

She originally wanted a pot-luck wedding, until someone explained that it's really rude to register for gifts AND have people bring their own food.  So she did it this way so she could still be rude and register for gifts.
