tasting on Sunday

We're going for our tasting on Sunday and bringing our parents to check out the rooms/help negotiate the contract.  Fingers crossed all goes well and I'll have my venue booked!

Anything I should know before I go to the tasting?  Any suggestions?  I'm excited and nervous!

Stony Hill Inn in Hackensack.  We went to 5 different places over the past two weeks and that was our #1 fav.

Well if its anything like mine (we had 7 people) we had no idea it was going to be 100% compensated!!! Foods, drinks everything - HOWEVER, we were kindly asked to leave tips and we were not expecting to need cash (we figured we would use debit/cc's etc.) so we were scrounging the table for cash hahaahahha

Make sure to bring cash as pp said just in case.
Also look for things that would be important to you on your wedding day (speed of service, waitstaff, options, etc).

thats great that they gave you a tasting before signing a contract! we couldnt find many places that did (we went with the graycliff just because of that-i couldnt imagine putting a depost down without knowing what i was getting).  ours was completly free as well and we were told not to leave any tips!  Just get ready to eat a LOT of food....try just a little bit of each otherwise its overwhelming!

my venue doesn't do a tasting at all....is that weird? i know from others personally and through reviews that the food is amazing, so i was comfortable booking, but is that strange that they just don't do tastings? I was kind of hoping to do one!

the only thing with a tasting is that they KNOW you're coming in, so they're going to be sure to put out the best food possible.  i would go for the tasting, and then ask to come back for a weekend cocktail hour to see how the food is actually presented, this way you're sure.  we did that at the westmount- they gave us lots and lots of food on the first night we went, but then we went the second night and walked through the cocktail hour at 6:15 and the bride was coming in at 6:30.
