Friday The 13th Wedding?

So my fiance are pushing our wedding back a little bit because we want to save up for a down payment on a condo, and so no my fiancee wants to get married on Friday the 13th.  Now i'm not very superstitiuos or anything, but would this be a weird wedding date?

I don't know how much it matters, I'm not very superstitious.  But, you have a fiance, he has the fiancee.
  • Ok i'm sorry...haha.  I'm new to this.  Would it be weird though?

It's only weird if you think it is.

If you decide to go ahead with the date, just be prepared for a lot of lame superstious jokes/comments from friends and family.

  • Besides Halloween, my DH would think this is the greatest wedding date ever. I don't think it's weird at all.

  • I wouldn't worry about it. I agree with pp bc it is not going to fall on a Friday every year. Your anniversary would be June 13, no matter what.
  • It's just a day. I don't think it's weird at all. It won't always fall on a Friday either.

  • My best friend's parents got married on Oct. Friday the 13th. Its just a day, if it works for you don't worry about it. Its not going to doom your wedding/marriage.

  • Not at all We are getting married on Friday the 13th and I am excited I think it's even more good luck!! Go for it!! :)
  • My fiance and I had our first date on Friday the 13th more than four years ago. So it's obviously not unlucky to me.
  • My sister was born on Friday the 13th and she's still alive and kickin'.

    I think you're good.

  • Don't worry about it.  My parents were married on Friday the 13th and are still happy 25 years later.  The only thing is they forgot to cut the cake, haha.  The onlly thing I would be worried about is if you are prepared to deal with EVERYONE making comments about the date.  IF you think that would get annoying, that would be the only reason not to.
  • My step-daughter got married on Friday 13th and as far I can remember no one made jokes or comments about it. It was a non issue. As others have posted, it won't always be on a Friday, it won't even come up except every 6 or 7 years...

  • I don't think it is weird at all, maybe that is because I'm getting married Friday, August 13.  I found that we got some better prices on catering and such because of the date.  If that is the day you choose, it should not matter what everyone else says or thinks.  Good luck!
  • Go for it!  I'm sure people make little jokes, but unless you take their jokes to heart or you're superstitious, don't worry about it!  I think it makes a bold statement that nothing is going to get in your way.

  • In the Italian culture, the number 13 is lucky!

    Good luck and congratulations

  • I don't think it's weird but I do think it is bad luck. Be sure to wear a little black, isnt that supposed to prevent bad luck on Friday the 13th? lol
