wedding cake cost?

Just ordered my wedding cake today. Our venue doesn't include this. 
cake for 125 people $900 4 tiers.

everyone is telling me I'm nuts but it really is a gorgeous cake. 

Just curious as to what the average is out there?

    Mine is $500.  But I got a small 3 tier cake (feeds like 75), then 2 half sheet cakes (so we also got cakes in different flavors.  I did a lot of research and found general prices were $5 - $12 a slice (which can add up to a TON!)

    I have a 3 tier with a full sheet for 200 people.  Around 400 all in and my design/colors are intricate...
