Good Morning/ How was your weekend?

I am SO mad the Pats won.  Living in Boston is nearly unbearable right now with everyone talking about the Superbowl and a Pats/Giants rematch...ugh

Other than that my weekend was very chill - it was my last one before the students return, so that was nice.  I'm off to Pittsburgh on Fri for hair/makeup trials, cookie taste testing (for our cookie table) and our last vendor details meeting, which is just crazy!

Re: Good Morning/ How was your weekend?

  • Hey!

Yeah I didn't watch the game. I can't stand the patriots. They make me want to vomit. Sorry you are in the middle of it Md....

So we met with the music minister for our music and with the minister to discuss the ceremony. We just have to meet with him once more then we are good.

On a side note, I could really use some T&P..... My dad is definitely not coming to my wedding. Neither is my stepmom and my stepsister wont be bringing my stepnephew (who was supposed to be the ring bearer). I know that at the end of the day any dad who does that is not a loving father, but it's still very hard. I basically will never be seeing my father again. And I'm still in the process of moving on.

Ok, maybe I'm in the minority, but I can tolerate a Pats victory more than a Ravens victory. I hate both teams but the Ravens are a tad bit worse to me.

MD - I hope the weather cooperates for your trip to Pittsburgh. Where are you taste-testing cookies? Which, by the way, sounds like the most fun wedding task ever.

Sari - oh my gosh, I am so, so sorry. I really can relate to what you're going through though, so feel free to PM me if you ever need to vent privately.

I am thisclose to ordering BM dresses! We found two styles at Alfred Angelo we really liked. I just need to decide if we're going to pick one or get both of them and alternate styles. I'll share pics when we decide.
  • Britt - I hate the pats more than the ravens, but its probably because I live in Boston.  I think most Steelers fans prefer the Pats.

Sari - I am so so sorry.  Like Britt, I get it and you can PM/email anytime.  It's unfortunate he can't respect your decisions and is dragging the rest of his family into not going too.  All I can tell you is he will look back on this with regret one day, and that it's good you stood up for yourself.
  • Thank you so much Britt and Md. I can't tell you how nice it is to know that I am not alone in this. And they may resent me for standing up and not doing as my dad wanted, but I feel free. Despite the sadness, I know in the long run I will not regret my decision. I even have a certain peace with it. At time I think they are more upset about it than I am because I am at peace with myself. I'm not perfect, but I do my best to love others now and take care of the people in my life. My FI and I will build our own family, and we have a HUGE network of loving and supporting people surrounding us. It hurts now, but I will be alright eventually.

  • sari - sounds like your head is in the right place :)  Your wedding is going to be such an awesome display of love from your true support network, and I think its going be great.
  • Ugh, Sari, I'm sorry to hear.  :(

My weekend was interesting.  We had to cancel our first venue tour because of the snow/ice, so we had to reschedule for this Saturday, before our friends' wedding.  We did manage to make it to our afternoon appointment and I don't know...I'm not WOWED.  The price is good (around $75 per person with a lot included like cake, chair covers/sashes, premium bar, etc) but I am not in LOVE with the venue.  Sigh.

When did your venue CLICK for you ladies?

  • I saw pics of my venue online and thought it had potential (like lots of other ones).  Then I went and saw it in the same day I saw 4-5 others, and it was just standout in terms of being unique and good for our size/style wedding.
  • Sari - that sounds like a really rough situation. Sounds like you've got everything you need and lots of support to get you through. Erbear: We saw our venue and just knew it had great potential. We saw it in January with the rose garden covered in snow, but it was just the place we were most excited about and the price was right. Plus it doesn't need much in the way of decorating since it's a museum of sorts!
