Starting to plan a Destin wedding - any advice?

I got engaged on 12/28 and I'm starting to research reception venues in the Destin/Santa Rosa Beach area (My fiance is from there). We will most likely have around 250 guests.

I definitely want a venue that overlooks the water. So far I have found a few online that I like: Emerald Grande, Santa Rosa Beach and Golf Resort, The Palms and SanDestin (which may be too expensive).

If anyone has any advice for other reception sites, florists and/or photographers in the area I would appreciate the help!

My fav photogs are Vue Photography, Courtney Craver, and Paul Johnson.

    Nouveau Flowers are amazing!

If you need entertainment try First Day Entertainment, they are fab!

Of your venues I have looked at Santa Rosa Beach and Golf Resort, my only thoughts were their are several big square columns in the room that make it feel disjointed. I just thought people would be stuck behind them and looking around them, The view is amazing, the absolute best in my opinion, that's the best feature. I have heard the food is good as well, but we didn't eat while we were there we just stopped in to look at the room.

Other venues we looked at were Watercolors, and Carrilon Beach.

We have decided to stick closer to Pensacola, my nest stop is Tiger Point Golf Club.

I am recently engaged also and planning a destination wedding in Destin/Panama City.  I have found a few venues that are outside and I love them.  I have not made a decision yet, I am still trying to collect information and get pricing.

    Carillon Beach
    Rosemary Beach
    Seaside
    Watercolor Inn & Resort
    Sandestin

Let me know if you find anything else.
