dj, photographer, and video advice

Hi, this is my mfirst post so let me do the introductions:
I'm Kelly, my fiance is Eugene, we are getting married this Oct and are a bit behind in getting vendors.  We have a ceremony and reception site and are working on the rest.
We went to a bridal expo and met some djs and we were looking for opinions/experience with them, as all seemed personable.  We'd like someone who can keep things moving/emcee well without being obnoxious and who will not keep the volume so loud as to offend our older familiy members.
 the ones we met are:

Riviera DJ Productions
DJ Tom Destry
Much Music

also, we have been told of the following photographers but have not had a chance to meet them and were looking for feedback if they were worth contacting:

myles studio photography
quinnco photography
les howard photography

lastly, does anyone have any thoughts on best of times video productions?

thanks and sorry this is so long!

Hi Kelly, welcome to the board.  I just used Much Music for my wedding this past May.  Larry was absolutely fabulous! Kept the party going, he has a great announcing voice,  played all the music we wanted, it was exactly how we wanted it.  I couldn't say enough good things about it.  He curtails your wedding to your EXACT details.

    Welcome and congrats!!!

I would not recommend Tom Destry.  He did my best friends wedding and was horrible.  In the middle of the mother son dance the speaker went out.

Sorry I don't know the other vendors you are using.

My photographer is Christopher's Studio if you wanted to check him out.  I highly recommend him.

Can't help with the DJ or photo. We used DJ Bri (Spinning with Style) and Majestic Studios for photo and video.

But my sister used Best of Times for her video and I love it! I think she has an outstanding video. We would have used them if our photographer didn't offer it.

I used Ashley Therese Photography and everyone keeps raving over our photos.  She was everything I expected and even more then we paid for.  Would not have traded her for any other photographer out there! Her prices are reasonable and she customizes her packages to include what you are looking for, including an album.

I had Tom Destry at my reception and had seen him multiple times prior to our wedding date.  He was wonderful every time.  He was extremely helpful and entertainingly professional.  I would strongly recommend him.

Hi - I'm new as well!  I'm Ashley, the future hubby is Tyler.   :-)  I am computer illiterate so apologies for my horrendous typing/grammer errors!!!  We booked our DJ last month, we are using the DJ company.  They've been great so far.  We (i have no idea why) let my mother "be in charge" of booking the photographer and videographer...scary.  I don't love surprises, but she insisted.  She is however being very kind by taking care of that for us, so I shouldnt complain...just worry  ;-)  Is anyone else living in a fairly constant state of enthusiam/anxiety at the same time?  LoL.
