photographer under 1500?

What exactly are you looking for? Just rights to the photos? I'm assuming at 1500, you're not expecting any albums. For 1500, I think you'd probably have to try one of the chain photography places, but they don't always get the best reviews. Remember, you get what you pay for! If photographs are important to you, I'd try and adjust the budget to allow a bit more.

Were you trying to include albums in that amount? Have you tried CraigsList? Or think about hiring a better photographer who usually prices in the low $2k range and see if they'll offer a discounted price for a shorter day.

Another idea would be to try someone out of state - maybe PA - that may have a lower price point. When we were looking for photographers, I had spoke to someone in PA who was willing to do the 2 hr travel to our location in order to add different type of wedding to her portfolio (we had our wedding at Waterside with NYC skyline as backdrop). While we didn't end up going with her because we used a close friend instead, it is definately an option.

The one I suggested, for that price, covers 8 hours. :) I hope you check out his work. He does a great job. I also know him on a personal level (we used to work together). He's awesome! (wow, I sound like I'm making a commission off this post LMAO!)

Try giving Val Solo a call. He's based in Union, NJ (not sure where your reception is), but his prices are definitely in line with your budget.
