Happy New Years! Now is crunch time! :) Musician/videographer recs?

Hi girls! It's been awhile since I posted on this board just due to a lot going on and my break of planning recently, but I'm back! I hope you all have had a great Christmas, New Years, and overall good holiday season! Now that it is the first I'm reaching crunch time at six months out, woohoo!

It is back to the planning, DIY, and other last minute vendor booking. I've been way ahead on planning for the past year and a half and yet now I feel like I'm running behind. Still have to have my stationery design and printed (invites, menues, programs), favors, welcome bags, bm dresses ordered, shoes ordered, find jewelry, and DIY projects done! Where is the time! lol

While I'm here I also want to ask for any recommendations for musician and videographer as those are the last two vendors I have left to book.

What kind of musician are you looking for? Like a singer/guitarist? Or a DJ?

So I showed my fiance some of the videographers and he really wants Studio Red. So I will be contacting my coordinator about that! For musicians I am thinking a Hawaiian guitarist and vocalist. I originally had inquired about Jamie Lawrence but he was booked that day? Anyone similar you would recommend?

Hm, Jamie Lawrence is the one that I knew of. I think some other ladies may have had other musicians.

As for SR, they are absolutely amazing. Initial price tag might be a bit scary, but they are brilliant cinematographers and really great people too. Hopefully they're still available!

We used Paul Petersen as our musician and he was fantastic. I was really impressed with his list of song options, and he was willing to learn new stuff when I asked for something that wasn't on his list. Our coordinator booked him, so I'm not sure on his rates, though.

I'm not any help in this areas. We are DIY our video with help from a friend, using an iPod for our "DJ" and the man performing our wedding ceremony is also providing music for us at the ceremony. Good luck finding what you want.

I love Studio Red, unfortunately I couldn't accommodate them in our budget. As for a vocalist/guitarist ny coordinator recommended Wilmont Kahaialii, Jr. I believe that he's reasonably priced. Good luck with your planning!

We used Studio Red, and our wedding video is hands down the best thing we splurged on (besides photography). They were worth every penny. I can't tell you how many times I have watched our video since we got it. You've seen their work...it's like a movie with beautiful, sweeping shots, perfect music, every detail captured. Joel and Kristy are the sweetest people ever. They stayed past the time we hired them for so they could get every last moment on film.

The only negative thing I have to say about using them was that we waited more than a YEAR for our wedding video. When I began inquiring after it had been about 6 months, their assistant kept promising the video would be delivered very soon. I felt like I was getting the run around, and finally I was promised I would absolutely have it to watch on our one year anniversary. Well, that day came and went and still no video. We ended up getting a link to watch it a few days after our anniversary, but I was upset at the broken promise and not being able to watch it together on the actual day (I'm weird like that).

But even after all of that, I was so blown away by the final product that I would still recommend them

Thanks girls! I will definitely check out Studio Red. Andrea yours was amazing! Hopefully it works out. Also, I found a musician named Randy Allen who sounds great, so I am waiting for a response from him. Hopefully he is still is available.

I really appreciate all the suggestions.
