Engagment Picture Locations

Anyone have any ideas for nice places to take engagement pictures in the winter? Indoor and outdoor suggestions welcome! We want to be within a half hour of the citites preferably! Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Engagment Picture Locations

  • Como Park is always pretty and you have a variety of backdrop options - lake, wooded areas, not sure what the rules are on photographing in the zoo or conservatory.

For indoor - Woodbury 'Central Park' has a pretty waterfall and some other options and I know they rent it hourly for photography.  Otherwise your home or someone's home with a fireplace could give a winter feel.
  • Someone just asked this a few days ago but downtown St Paul around Rice Park and the river is really pretty in winter. Downtown Stillwater also has a lot of pretty places as well.

  • The Cathedral Hill neighborhood in the Summit/Selby Ave area is gorgeous during the winter.  Also, a knottie on here (don't recall who...) did some indoor shots at WA Frost (Selby Ave) and those turned out pretty awesome!

  • We did ours outdoors at the Mill City Museum and then indoors at the Guthrie right across the street and got some great shots. We also did some in a laundromat for something fun and different.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • We did indoor pictures in Common Goods bookstore. They turned out great. Lots of cool arches, tiny nooks, and since we're both readers the books were a fun theme
  • 54th & Xerxes in South Mpls!! That's where we did ours - you can see the pictures in my bio (link below)

Its a little park that the Minnehaha River runs through .... I bet it's really pretty in the winter!
