RSVP Wording

I'm in a time crunch with my invitations but I was wondering how to word my response cards. I want to include a line for the number of people attending to avoid confusion over total attendees, so what is the correct wording?

Number in Party
Number of Guests
Number of People Attending


I'd like to keep it in a somewhat formal style.

    What we put on our reponse cards was "We have reserved ____ seats in your honor".. so this way guests know they can bring no more than this.  Since we've sent out our invites we've even had people CALL who didn't have a +1 asking if they can bring 1!!

    I would put "Names of those attending" rather than number.

    Ours are worded as such:

    The favor of a response is requested by the fifteenth of May.

    ___________ _ (will attend) _ (will not attend) _ chicken _ haddock _ vegetarian
    ___________ _ (will attend) _ (will not attend) _ chicken _ haddock _ vegetarian
    ___________ _ (will attend) _ (will not attend) _ chicken _ haddock _ vegetarian
    ___________ _ (will attend) _ (will not attend) _ chicken _ haddock _ vegetarian
    ___________ _ (will attend) _ (will not attend) _ chicken _ haddock _ vegetarian

    We have reserved __ seats in your honor.

    I filled in the names of each invited guest myself to avoid confusion or lack of names in the response, and to make it clear who is invited.  We left the "We have reserved __ seats" to make it clear that the remaining lines were not to be filled out.

    It might be mildly insulting, but years of dealing with paperwork for various jobs have left me with very little faith in the intelligence of others when it comes ot things even as clear-cut as this.  I know my family and friends will understand.

    I had a blank for name at the top and then seats reserved in your honor #. So far I have been lucky and have only had people cross out 2 and replace it with 1 is they are not bringing a date.  But I'm worried some will cross out 2 and replace with say 4 because they want to bring their children or something.
