You are definitely not the only one. I think it's part of the planning process actually, LOL. When we were still planning, everytime we made a payment on something I freaked out about something breaking in the house or on one of the cars. H would tell me that its natural to feel that way but that in the end it will all be worth it as long as we stay within our budget, which we did.
Yes, you are not alone. Even before I started booking my vendors I completely underestimated how much weddings cost. I set a budget before I started planning and had to DOUBLE it! I was completely unrealistic as to how much it was going to take to pull off what I wanted.
FI and I agreed to not use credit or our savings. We would take out X amount of our paychecks and put it towards the wedding. So far so good! My thoughts weren't what if something goes wrong, my thoughts were, this money could be used to put down a down payment on a second home or investment property.
At the end of the day, I'm letting my logical side take a break and allowing myself to splurge for the first time in my life.

I am so glad you posted this. I was supposed to put down the deposit for the reception on Friday and I chickened out. The reception hall is an all inclusive so this will be for the food, linens, basiscally everything except the DJ. I will talk to the FI today and call to submit the deposit over the phone. So glad I am not the only one freaking out.
You must have read my mind! We just made second payments to the venue and caterer (final payments are due 3 weeks before after we finalize our guest list), and booked honeymoon (paid in full) - I must have gotten maybe 3 hours of sleep last night tossing and turning and having mini panic attacks about the amounts of money that just left our account! We're still within budget at this point, but I keep tellin myself that it will be worth it!

I am in the same boat! I am sooooooo freaked about booking vendors. lol I am afraid of spending all the $ and on top of that I am just afraid that there is something better. I have researched my booty off...and I'm just sooo scared I'll make the wrong decision. lol
I am so there. It is a lot to handle when you are plopping down thousands for certain items. I have never spent money like this. I am more of a $20 here and $20 there person.

Anyone panic when they started booking vendors?</a>: [QUOTE]Happy hump day ladies! Hope everyone's Fourth of July weekend was wonderful... I'm on a roll booking my major vendors for our May wedding and I had a mini panic attack at how much money we were paying for deposits and the balance amount we'd be responsible for. I know we're still well within our budget, but for some reason I'm terrified to be tapping into our cash savings!! this!! And I keep thinking I will get pregnant with triplets right after the wedding and how dumb it would be to spend so much on a wedding when I have 3 extra mouths to feed...lol!!!
It is natural and i am sure we all felt this way. I panic half way through my process and even went over our budget....Everything worked out though so just breathe and relax and you will be fine
Lol! When I saw the cost of the DJ I almost had an attack but FI keeps telling me that this it for both of us so we need to enjoy the day. So as he re-assures me I feel better.
I feel the exact same way and I have a second job! FI and I keep talking about how we could be getting new cars or a down payment on a house but instead the $$ is going toward the wedding. I think you just have to breathe and realize it will all work out and it will all be worth it when everyone is gushing about how much fun they had
Re: Hey
just try to have a plan and stick to it as much as you possibly can!!!
things happen in life so be prepared for that as well
