  • what is the frequency that you call each other when on vacation?
  • - usually never, maybe once to let them know we arrived safely
  • does the frequency change depending on the type/duration of vacation? (e.g. out of the country, 2nd honeymoon, family trip to the beach, visiting other family members, etc.) no - usually we're too busy running around enjoying ourselves to call.

  • what is the typical duration of a call? 30-45 minutes, 2-3 times/week

  how often do you call your parents/guardians? I'm terrible.  Maybe once a month.  Maybe.  And it is rarely just to chat.  I usually have a specific purpose and then chatting is a side-effect.

  Probably 3-4x/week, but we communicate via e-mail 1-3x/day

  For a week: probably just when get there, when leave unless there's a specific "I just found a thing, do you want it" type call being made. Longer than a week, I might call just to check in on them and, probably, our dogs.

  When we went out of the country, we just e-mailed when we got there and when we were leaving, it was easier.  No other calls at all.

  Depends.  Sometimes  just a few minutes, but my mom and I and DH and his dad, can gab each other's ears off sometimes for 40-60 minutes.

  I call my mom a couple times a week.  My dad maybe once a month. 
  
  My mom calls me once a week.  My dad calls once a week maybe every other week.
  
  Nobody calls anyone on vacation just to chat.  Well, sometimes if my parents are visiting my brother we'll get drunk dial.  Yes my late 60's parents and my 43 yo brother drunk dial.
  
  Calls last anywhere from 5 mins to an hour.  Sometimes I'll call mom when she's driving to work to tell her something funny the kids did.  My dad calls on his way home from work so that's about 35 mins.
