MGs: Question for those who are small up top...

I'm a solid B-cup and the shop where I ordered my dress from is sewing in cups to give me a little more oomph up top (though, in all honesty, I don't think the 1/4-inch think cups are going to make much of a difference) and my dress has a corset style back.  So, to those of you who already had your weddings and are smaller up top like me and wore a gown that laced up in the back, did you wear a separate bra AND have sewn-in cups or did you just go with the sewn-in cups?

Regardless of what you did, what was your experience like?  If you wore a bra, did you find it peeking out of your dress or did you feel the bra sliding down at all?  If you didn't wear a bra, did you feel naked or flat or did you find yourself thumb-hooking your dress all night?

Thanks in advance!

i had cups sewn in. If you go that route, make sure they reinforce them with extra stitching.  My dress was a little looser up top than it had been and one of my cups wasn't sewn in that well, it started to peek out of the top of my strapless dress & we had to use safety pins to secure it.  Not the most comfortable thing in the world. Had I not lost more weight after my last fitting, the fit of the dress would have held it in place, but it was a little loose.  I guess with a corset back you don't have to worry about that though.

I had cups sewn in and then they folded another set of cups and sewed them to the bottom half of the first ones.  It looks to much better than it did without them.  Plus it makes my waist look smaller too.

For my sisters wedding I had cups sewn into my dress and I wore a bra.  I didn't notice any discomfort that night.  I was fine with combination but looking at the pictures years later I laugh because I look kind of chesty for me.   No one else probably noticed.  I remember the seamstress recommended I wear both but I think it was because she didn't want to do the alterations up top.

I had cups sewn into my gown and went braless. I had no intentions of wearing a bra to begin with (I seldom do w/ dresses if I can avoid it). The cups were sewn in nicely and did give a little extra "oomph" :) I'm a solid B as well if that helps.

With my dress whenever I had a bra on you could see it. I thried a longline bra and that didn't work either. I had cups sown in and with the fit of the dress nothing moved. It gave them a little umph and I enjoyed that I didn't get uncomfortable wearing a strapless bra. I didn't have a corset back, but I would think the fit would be even better with that

I'm glad a lot of you went bra-less and had no issues with it.  I can't stand strapless bras but I was worried that the cups wouldn't do anything for me (and I love the idea of possibly asking them to sew in another set of folded ones in the bottom half if I'm still looking really flat).  And, Allie, you're probably right that the corset back will help to ensure a snug fit up top!  Thanks, ladies!

I had cups sewn in and did not wear a bra.  I had no issues at all and it make me look bustier.  I didn't want to deal with a bra so it worked perfectly.

My alterations lady suggested I do the cups and bra (I'm only an A cup), so that's what i'm doing.  I hope I don't look too chesty in the picture!  She never suggested I don't wear a bra, but we did try it without the cups and I liked it better with both.

I wore a bra and Had the cups put in. I took off my bra for the reception, only since it was getting uncomfortable and itchy
