I am one of the few people I know who can say I absolutely love my job. I have a passion for theatre and a passion for teenagers, so my job is perfect for me.
Then you throw my incredibly dedicated students in the mix and my mind is blown every day. We start school at 7:30 am, and they're staying until 4, 5, even 6:30 pm working on things for the play. These kids are putting in close to 12 hour days voluntarily. In fact, they've gotten to where they're asking ME to stay after school because if I don't, they can't. Last Friday I wasn't planning to stay after but they told me they had planned on it, so I did.
I haven't lifted a finger to work on our set. They have painted every single brush stroke - and it's a LOT. I'll post some pictures when we're done; I think you'll be amazed at the work 12, 13 and 14 year olds are able to do.
It took me 3 years to find this job, and I hated every minute of the looking, all the interviews that led nowhere, all the rejection. It's amazing how God knows exactly where we need to be though. I am so glad He led me to this job, and for the first time in 5 years, I've realized that I'm glad He kept me unemployed until this job was available for me. I never thought I would say that.
My heart is just full to bursting right now and I'm sure the people in my real life are sick of hearing about how great my kids are, so I just had to share with you guys.
