Getting ready question/vent

Hi ladies,

Sorry for all the posts lately, I hit the 5 month mark and now I'm going crazy with all the details left to finish.

I called my ceremony place (Cathedral of the Pines) today to find out about getting ready day of the wedding.  They do weddings all day and won't be able to guarentee that we can get in until 3:30pm for a 4pm wedding.  (We have plenty of time for the ceremony and pictures afterwards we're the last wedding of the day).  So my coordinator there advised me not to get dressed there because we probably won't have enough time and get pictures in too.

I'm bummed out because I found a great Salon 10 mins down the road in Rindge, NH that will shut down the whole place for us (about 8 in total with me and my mom), super nice lady I get a good feeling from and recommended from friends in the area who have used their services before.  We can't use this place now because the hotel/reception area is 30 mins away in Keene, NH and we're going to stay there the night before as we get a discount and will be getting things ready that morning. (I also hate to stay in more than one hotel, what a pain lugging your stuff from night to night/place to place

So now I have to change venues and the salon's I'm finding in Keene won't shut down for us (which is fine, I just like the idea of just the girls, maybe some wine or soda to calm the nerves, relax) and I don't get a great feeling like they really care about you.  I have something booked in Keene at MJD, but I'm going to keep calling around (any suggestions please help!).

We are going to have to get ready at the hotel now, get dressed after hair and make up then drive 30 mins to the ceremony site.  Is this a good idea to go in the limo (or car depending on how long we get the limo for) in my dress?  I don't want my dress to wrinkle and my hair to get messed up, but I don't know what else to do?  Will 30 mins be enough time to put on my dress, take pics and be ready as my ceremony site wants you to start on time no exceptions?

Sorry it was so long and thanks again for your help you ladies are keeping me sane!

If the salon in Rindge is shutting down for you, couldn't you get dressed there? I'm not quite sure why you have to change your salon area... Could you maybe go to the salon earlier and then go back to the hotel?
Your hair and dress won't look any worse for wear from being in the limo, but I'd talk to the salon and see if you can just get dressed there, and maybe just switch the time around a little.

I was a BM in my cousins wedding which was held at the Cathedral of the Pines. We got dressed in Keene and then rode in a limo to Rindge. We all looked great when we got there and did not have any problems with our dresses or hair. This was after having our hair done in Brattleboro eight hours before the ceremony and running around to Target and Starbucks once it was done. Hope this helps.
