need some advice

I dont know what to do. Dh and i (yes were married, never had a wedding so doing it now) booked our ceremony and venue site and made a deposit. The lady who handles that said she couldnt get the contract together that day, to come back and see her when we spoke to the restraunt caterers. So we did that and she made up some excuse about her printer breaking last minute so shed email it to me! Well she emailed it to me and it was wrong, so we had to email her, when she didnt answer the eamil we called her and it was a pain getting her on the phone. Well we had her fix the contract and she emailed it back to me, we printed it and signed it and then i called her several times, no answer no call back and ive emailed her several times for an address to send the contract back, and i have yet to hear back from her. i dont know what to do, i dont really want to work with a venue who is going to be a pain in the rear to get in contact with. And not to mention their florist and caterer said they would email me prices and lists of things and i have yet to hear from them!! Should i switch venues? we did make a deposit for the venue but they havent gotten the contract back, you think i should switch and see about getting out deposit back?!
And not to mention she has emailed me 3 times since midnight trying to prove her point on her replying to emails. I emailed her back asking her why she felt the need to argue with a customer when the customer is always right. If she contuinues to email me arguing about her responding to emails i was going to have to contact her supervisor!
I just dont really know what to do. we love the venue but were starting to hate the lady!

    Personally, I'd look for another place. It sounds like she full of excuses and difficult to worth with - not traits of a vendor you want on your wedding day.  If you can stand losing the deposit, I'd go someplace else.  There are TONS of other locations that would love to have your business and will treat you with the respect you deserve.  Wedding planning does not have to be all that stressful, but dealing with vendors who make it difficult is something to run from ;).  GL!

    I agree with PP, I loved my venue but did my planning with a lady like that and it drove me nuts the whole time!!!!   The closer you get to the wedding that more important discussions with her will be and for planning sake, you need someone who will get back to you on an answer.  If she can't get in contact with you about a contract (I mean, its money for her and the company, something SHE really wants) what is going to happen when its a question you have that is important to you and not so important to her?  I had all kinds of questions about chair setup and table arrangements, etc. and it took her over a week to get back to me every time and each time I asked her something, it was really important in my planning and each time I waited on her, it slowed me down.

    If you are in love with the venue and the venue is worth it to you, go ahead and turn in the contract.  If you know of other places you love and can handle losing the deposit, seriously look for somewhere else with consultants that care about getting back to you.  

    Just for other brides' sake, would you mind telling us which venue?  Just so we are aware...

    I agree with pp...You might want to take your business else where, just so you won't have to deal with the stress.

    i love the venue and we really cant afford a loss on the deposit so i guess im gonna have to suck it up and deal with it. The catering compnay that goe along with the venue never got back to me until i said something to the venue lady, then the catering company emailed me. But we got different caterers because of her lack of contact and they were much cheaper .
    Anyways looks like im gonna have to deal with it and let my wedding coordinator deal with her when i cant get ahold of her!

    If your heart is set on the venue and it's not feasible to lose the deposit, I'd try to make a face to face appointment with her.  I'd sit down, explain kindly your frustrations, lack of communications, the delay in responses, etc.  I'd try to put a positive spin on it by saying, "I'm looking so forward to having my special day here and want to ensure everything goes off with out a hitch, but am concerned b/c..x,x, x,x,x,"  "What can we do together alleviate my stress of all the venue/catering, etc details be handled?"  I do think it's responsibility to get back to you in a timely manner with items, (as you are the client), but to try to get this running on a smoother plane and diffuse a bit of her defensive behavior.

    If she has a supervisor or boss you can talk with, I absolutely would. You are paying for a service and her not fulfilling her end of your business arrangement is totally unacceptable.

    I would suggest trying what Alison says, if that doesn't work then move on to the supervisor.  You, being the client, should have some sort of priority and if you can't get that from her then I would suggest finding someone in the company that can.  Like Cutypie says "I had all kinds of questions about chair setup and table arrangements, etc. and it took her over a week to get back to me every time and each time I asked her something, it was really important in my planning and each time I waited on her, it slowed me down."  
    I'm still 4 months out and i've already asked my venue owner (also my venue coordinator) TONS of questions along with going in to get measurements for different areas on several different occasions.  It is imperative that you have some one you can communicate with on a regular basis and know you're getting the service you've paid for.  Lets be real here, weddings aren't cheap.  We almost skipped the wedding and used our $10k on a house down payment instead.  For the amount of money spent on that one day you should be treated like the freakin Queen of England ;)  Find someone who can do that for you through the wedding planning and you'll be glad you did for long after!
