  Ditto PP, I would check David's Bridal.  Something like this is really cute.  Color Victorian Lilac is a nice purple color.

  My BMs dresses are in Lapis from Davids Bridal, the color is a deep purple and really pretty.  Right now dresses are on sale for $79-$99.

  What do you mean by "fortune"?? I've been told that the average bridesmaids dresses range between 100-150. To me, I consider anything above 200 a fortune. If 150's  is reasonable with you, look into Bill Levkoff. They have a large and beautiful selection of knee length dresses. I'm also getting purple, in eggplant and it's also cocktail/knee length dress. All of my bridesmaids love me for it!   i say check out department stores too. It's a popular color right now so you never know.  I've seen really pretty purple dresses at The Limited.

  I got our dresses from JCrew in sweet thistle. it's a really lovely smokey lavender/victorian lilac color. I almost want to buy one for myself.

  I really like After Six dresses.  They are not incredibly expensive.  I would check out the website.  They have a ton of dresses and color to choose from.

  Purple is very in right now, go to any department store and you'll find a ton of dresses to choose from. Plus you'll probably have better luck getting a dress on sale at a department store than a traditional bridal shop.

  We used Victorian Lilac.  They were Jasmine dresses (Belsoie I think).  It is a beautiful color, but a little challenging to match.  My suggestion if you use it, don't try to match with flowers.  Just use white, green, or dark purple.  It was very flattering on my girls and in pictures
