Centerpiece pics?

Hi ladies!

So I haven't been to a lot of weddings, but I'm having a hard time visualizing how one centerpiece is enough on a 8-person (idk how big it is in diameter??) round. I think I'd like to do flowers, a few votives, and put the centerpiece on a mirror. And, I can't decide if I'll do white linens, texture, color...I have decided to go with bright pink as my main color. (BM dresses are black, but I don't want too much black, I just loved the dresses!)

Meeting with florist on the 16th, but if you have pics you could share (yours or a wedding you attended!), I'd greatly appreciate it!

And, not seeing lots of full tables on The Knot- too close up to tell what the whole table looks like!

Sarah, will there be table numbers and menus and chargers and dinner plates and bread plates and silverware and napkins and water goblets and wine glasses and favors and lions and tigers and bears on your table too?  You may not really need a huge centerpiece if you've got all that.  A typical round 8 person table is about 60" in diameter (I think).  Edited to change the number because of my previous Google failure.

I've got some photos of a friend's wedding centerpieces on my other harddrive I think, I'll go find them in a little bit.

I think the 8 person tables are the 5 ft (120") round ones. I had 4ft. tables and just had white damask linens (floor length) with an eggplant table runner and just a simple white hanging Moraccan lantern with flowers on the hanging part of the lantern. You don't want too much room taken up with the center pieces so people have room for food & drinks, place cards, table numbers, candles, etc. There can be lots going on on the tables besides the decor.

Here are some pictures from our wedding. We had round tables, with flower centerpieces on mirrors with small candles (which the candles aren't placed in the votias yet). Sorry about the picture quality, I was taking them quickly. HTH!

Standard round tables for 8 people are 5ft rounds, or 60 inches in diameter. That was the size we used, and we used floor length blue pinpoint linens. Our reception was buffet, so the tables were not set with anything other than the centerpieces and salt and pepper. We went very simple with our centerpieces.
    Most looked like this:

And some (only about 7), looked like this:

These were the mock ups I did right before I sent the stuff to my DOC. I don't have good pictures on this computer of how they looked at the reception without too many beer and wine glasses in the way. :)

We had both low and tall centerpieces. The low ones were probably about 15" in diameter and the tall ones were larger, but raised on large glassware.  However, we did have napkins with menus, glasses, silverware, and lots of other stuff already out on the table.  Here are some pictures:

here is a mock up of what my centerpieces will be.  Half the tables will have oversized wine glasses, the other half will have oversized martini glasses.    We are having 120" black round tablecloths.

As far a color for you, how about having a black tablecloth with a pink overlay.  I think that would be very pretty without having to much black.
