You know those mini white "fireworks" you throw on the ground that come packaged in sawdust?
My mom and I were at Target and saw a HUGE bin of them for 1$ a box. I loveeee pop-it's so I went over to investigate the bin and it got me thinking... This could make a really cool wedding favor! What do you girls think? Any idea for how to package them?
My mom was thinking take them out of the box and pour them into some kind of favor bag/box and tie a cute saying onto them with mine and my FH's names and wedding date.
Has anyone heard of someone doing this before? I really love the idea.
Re: Pop-It's
For these you definately have to ask your venue. Because people are definately going to use them there. Who is going to clean up all the little bags of burnt sawdust?
If they give you the ok, then it might be cool. Except for the noise : )
This just sounds like a bad idea. And ditto hattie: who's going to clean it all up? And do you want that smell pervading your room?
I say no.
However, if you are certain that it's allowable where you are having your reception, kids and/or special needs people aren't an issue, and you trust your friends and family when under the influence - have fun!
EDIT: WAIT. It just dawned on me - you mean the little white "bag" type things that are less than the size of a dime and you just throw them and they make a snapping noise on the concrete, right? Not the confetti filled "champagne" type poppers?
That's a bit more allowable, although clean up may still be an issue at your venue.
If this is the case and the guest will be able to use them outside then it's ok. Trust me they actually can leave scorch marks on hardwood floors.
[QUOTE]I never thought about all of these issues so thanks for everyone for pointing them out! We will probably not be having alcohol at our wedding, and our wedding may be at a friends home so "venue rules" may not apply for us. Our wedding is also going to be small with about 40 people. I'm not sure if some of you misunderstood but I really didn't think any harm could be done by these. I didn't think they could hurt you unless you ingested them somehow or lit them on fire possibly. I guess it may be back to the drawing board...

Yes, they can hurt, if it hits skin, people get burned. Trust me. It has gun powder in it, which will make it dangerous.
Since your guests won't have alchohol, it might not matter too much, and if it's at your own place. Your neighbors might not appreciate it : )
