cotton candy...or candy buffet? :)

Soo I found this awesome cotton candy machine, it has a vintage look to it which goes perfectly with my wedding :) I love the idea of having the pink cotton candy. My question is I was originally going to do a candy bar, so I am not sure which I should do, also my sister thinks I am crazy for wanting cotton candy......me though I LOVE IT :)......I just don't want everyone else thinking its crazy, what do you ladies think?

 This is it :)

I don't think it's crazy, but if you've never tried to make cotton candy before let me just tell you, it's a pain in the a**. If you plan on letting your guests do it themselves then make sure to have plenty of alcohol sanitizer and wipes because you can't help but get it on your fingers and it's very sticky. Personally I absolutely love cotton candy, but after my experience making them for Relay for Life last year, I just don't think they are worth the hassle. Love the look of it though.

I don't know anything about the logistics of a cotton candy machine, but I love cotton candy and I think that the "candy bar" thing has been done to death.

I vote cotton candy. Maybe hire an attendant to keep guests' hands and clothes from getting sticky if that is a concern.

I would do a candy buffet. I think the cotton candy is a super cute idea, but would get messy really fast.

Haha... is it wrong for me to say do both? I love both ideas :)

It's definitely a cute idea. I have made cotton candy before, and it can be really messy, fly up in your hair, stick to your clothes, etc. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Yeah I think the candy bar has been done a lot!! I think I am going to go with the cotton candy machine....it may be a lil messy but I think the fun of it will make up for that and yes I will only have one person running it. I think maybe I will provide wet wipes for hands to just incase people get a lil sticky :) I am glad to hear though that other people actually like the idea and don't think its crazy! :)

HAHA:) Not wrong at all!! I would love to do both!! The cost for the candy bar is just the same as the cotton candy machine though so I have to pick just one :(

I think it's a fun idea, I too agree that the candy buffet idea's been done to death. FI and I are personally thinking of having a donut bar.

Anyway, it might be more hassle than it's worth simply because making cotton candy is incredibly tempermental-so you'd automatically have to hire someone to operate the machine and serve it up. It's definitely not something I would rely on guests to serve themselves because it can get real messy.

You can rent a cotton candy machine for much less and do both. It won't have the look of that machine, but you could premake the cotton candy and set it out on the candy buffet. Cotton candy in and of itself has a nostalgia feel to it. Everyone loves cotton candy! :P

mmm...i'd do the cotton candy if you can!!!

I hate cotton candy but if I went to a wedding where there was a cute machine that made it for guests I would think it was adorable!

however, like others have said the logistics could get a little "sticky"

    ^^corny pun-sorry.

Unless you're having your reception outside, I'd check with your venue first, for the reasons above.  I imagine, the way that stuff flies, it'd make a heck of a mess indoors!

    I love the idea though.
