what to wear over wedding dress?

We are getting married in Aug outdoor.. Oregon Coast.. should be beautiful day and great weather.. but going to be a chilly eve.. not sure what to wear over my dress.. dont want anything too formal.. my dress is a halter neck empire waist beautiful yet simple ivory colored dress.. any ideas??

A shawl made of lace or maybe linen?

There are a lot of different jacket cut and style options. Maybe a cut away that provides sleeves but doesn't hide the detail of your dress.

I second the cardigan idea.
