Ring appraisal?

Does anyone know a place that will appraise my engagement ring for under $100? It's from an older family set.

    I used Van Scoy Jewelers...it was $75 and same day pick up so I did not have to leave my ring there for a long period of time.  I could wait while they did it or run errands and pick it up in a few hours.  They also used a retired GIA gemologist so it was not I direct employee..( I know I sound paranoid but some jewelers I looked into sounded soo shady and made me worried that I would get my ring back with a different diamond!)

    It really depends on the amount of time the appraisal will take. The jeweler will charge you hourly usually. You should go to a local place and they could give you a better idea of how long it will take depending on the amount of gemstones you have.
    Try Koser's Jewelers in Mount Joy. They are wonderful with working inside your budget..not sure about appraisals but it's worth a visit.
