I was a bridesmaid in a wedding on a yacht in Kemah.  It was a smaller event and was fine.  A little bit cheesy in my opinion, but not bad.

My sister in law had a wedding at Star Fleet. It was nice but hot and they are a little expensive. I am thinking about doing one too and I found Mjestic Ventures which is the cheapest. Also Fantasea, they are the nicest and not expensive. The boats are nice and I do not think it's cheesy.

I went to a wedding on a yacht this time last year. It was okay. The bride chose the yacht for the price, but she told me that she ended up paying for a bunch of hidden costs and such that she felt were necessary. As a guest it was decent. The ceremony took place in the bottom deck, and then they had us go to the upper deck while they organized the downstairs for the meal. All the dancing took place outside on the main deck.

My advice for you is to keep the guest list small because the wedding I went to was rather cramped. Also have a back-up plan in case the weather is bad. I don’t know how my friend’s wedding would have worked if it were raining that night.

And now we are as one

Wow, cheesy, really? I wonder if all the dancing have to be outside? I attended a x-mas party on one and I thought it was real nice. What made the event cheesy, so I can try to see if I can prevent that from happening. I also am thinking about Majestic Ventures. I just think that's its different and should be nice.

@pjs001 /> What were some of the hidden cost and what company did she go with?

    Thanks for the feedback Ladies.

I can't remember the company, but it left from South Shore Harbor in Kemah, and I think the boat had the name Princess in it somewhere.

She said that she had trouble finding a photographer that knew how to take appropriate photography on a boat and there were a few other things but I can't remember for the life of me.

Sounds lovely!  Hope all goes well.  Another possibility.....I had my 1st wedding on the Southern Empress, a riverboat on Lake Conroe.  It was wonderfully done.  They had a planner who helped me plan and coordinate the whole thing.  The guests loved it and all had a wonderful time.  That was over 10 years ago and I can't remember the cost, but I paid for my own wedding so I know it was reasonable.  I think maybe around $6000 and that paid for EVERYTHING--cake, groom's cake, band, food, flowers, boat.....  The only extra cost I had was my dress, the tuxedos and photographer.
