Places and Vendors to AVOID!

Wanted to know some of the local's opinions about people they have worked with, or interviewed, and wouldn't touch with a 9 foot pole! Venues, Photographers, Catering...if it's wedding related, tell us about it and warn the brides to be!

    Honestly, all of the vendors I have spoke to have been very nice and helpful.  I am still a little less than a year out, so that may change ;)

    The only person I had problems with was getting all the information from Premier Catering, but it was miscommunication from both sides. They're VERY nice people and I'm told their food is wonderful.

    I also had problems contacting Maumee Bay this time last year, but I'm told it's because they switched events planners, so I'm sure that should be fixed by now.

    Whatever you do, I would not get alterations at David's Bridal. It was outrageous and they make you pay upfront.

    My only negative was at David's Bridal also.  I wish my dress wasn't so unique and I could have found something similar elsewhere.  I was not treated very well.

    If you are having a block of rooms being held at the Crowne Plaza, it may take some time.... my fiance worked on getting that all set up and it took MONTHS with the person he worked with. The guy would never answer/return calls and eMails. Then when he {finally} sent the contract it was the wrong year.... he quickly fixed it but it was quite frustrating to get to even that point. We did get an awesome rate, though, so we didn't want to pass it up. 

    Also - if you are going to block rooms there next summer be aware that there is a Jevhova's Witness Convention downtown several weekendss in the summer where they book the ENTIRE hotel... thankfully the weekend of our wedding it is available.

    I have heard that about the Crowne Plaza too.  My friend was going to block her rooms there and never got a return call.  I know there were weddings there with reviews on the knot that the heating/air doesn't work in the ballroom or overnight rooms.  And now their on like their 5th chef in 2 years.  Be careful there people, there's a reason their rates are dirt cheap.  Read their reviews in Tripadvisor...all bad bad bad
