So we were hoping to have our wedding here, but thus far we've had some major issues with the sales department. They had agreed to put our date on hold so that we would have some time to check in with our families. When I emailed to ask for additional available dates (stating in the email that we would DEFINITELY be booking our reception with them) I didn't get a response for over three days and had to call the hotel to hunt down our contact person. I was then told that no, the room we requested had not been held for us on the specified date because it was previously booked by someone else. None of this was expressed to us when we sat down with the saleswoman. She told us that date was available and said that she put a two week hold on it for us. In the interim, the hold on our back-up venue expired and we have now lost that date as well.
From what I understand, the person we have been working with is in training. I left a message for her manager to see if we could clear things up. Left that on Sunday (yesterday), when she was in the office, and still have yet to hear from her. I know this is the busy season for them, so I can understand that we might not get a call/email back the same day. I just hope to not be ignored by this person as well.
What I'm wondering is if anyone else has booked a wedding at the Burlington Marriott. I understand we get passed off to a consultant once we've signed the contract. Is it worth it to tough it out with the sales team, or should we just expect more of the same from this hotel? We love the space and are interested in booking here, but won't do so if the consultants are equally unresponsive (and careless).
