I guess kids made sugar cookies in Home Ec (now called Family and Consumer Science). While it's very sweet that they came around to give them to all the teachers (and that I'm pg and really want a cookie), when they hand it to me in a bare hand, it will go in the garbage.
Actually, it's sitting on my desk b/c I'm hungry, but tell me I should throw it out.
I can eat my roasted soybeans instead. Yum.

Re: Dirty cookie
...No?
I thought I went through the only school system on the planet that used the dumb name "Family Consumer Sciences".
I've been out of school for 7 years now ... and I still think it's a dumb name.
Oh wait, you had a problem ... um, hmm ..., "pretend" you know for a fact the kid had clean hands? If you believe that, there's no way you could actually get germs from it. For realzies.

I think I'm going to tell the teacher, because they came around with the cookies laid out nicely on a platter thing. But I know that MS kids get excited to hand things out and rearrange and move stuff. I can almost guarantee that they were instructed to offer the cookies off of the platter and not hand them out.
Buh-bye, delicious looking sugar cookie.

I offer you the Hershey bar in my desk if that helps.

Moosey - I'm not a germophobe, but working in a school makes you realize how gross kids can be.

[QUOTE]Meh. I'd eat it. I think people are a little to psychotic about germs.

Under normal circumstances, I would too. Maybe not when I'm pg, though. I sort of anticipate that I will be extra cautious about that sort of stuff. At least for a while.
Maybe suggest that they wrap the cookies up next time? Little Saran wrap envelopes or whatnot. Or at least get them the wax paper holder thingies that bakeries use.

But when they hand it to me, there is no ignoring that.

[QUOTE]See, if they were just on the tray, I could block out the fact that someone had to put them there, probably with bare hands. But when they hand it to me, there is no ignoring that.

Its also more likely theyre hands were clean when they baked the cookies, but you have no idea where they have been or what they have done between taking the cookies out of the oven and coming to your room.
I think I have the same thing going on: if it's on a tray, I could ignore it, but actually seeing a kid handling it would totally send me over the edge ... unless like 5 seconds before touching it, I saw him bathing in Purell.

Eh, I'd eat it. Maybe I'm overconfident in my immune system, though.
