Favors

Favor etiquette

We are sending guests home with extra cake as wedding favors.  We ordered some cute cake take-home boxes.  The only issue we are having, is the fact that they are not assembled.  My fiance says we should let guests fold their own box if they want to take a piece of cake. His main argument is that the boxes will take up too much space if they are pre-folded, and he doesn't want to carry pre-folded boxes to the reception area (there are only 50 boxes total). He also thinks that not all guests will take a piece of cake, and then we will have wasted time folding them.  I think that we should have the boxes pre-folded for our guests.  The boxes aren't necessarily hard to fold, but they are somewhat of a puzzle.  I certainly can't see wasting time showing every guest how to fold them, and I don't think we should make the guests work for their favor, either.  Please help us solve our dillemma! Wish we had the Marriage Ref panel  :)

pre-fold the boxes.  It seems pretty ungracious to me to throw a piece of cardboard on a table, plop a piece of cake next to it, and have your guests do the work of both assembling and filling the box-in effect, making their own favors.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146

Yeah, no guest should have to DIY their own favors.  Maybe your event planner (or mom, MOH, or some other nice family member) can help fold them on the wedding day.

Yea, definitely pre-fold them.  I would be ticked to have to worry about that to take a piece of cake home.

Yes, definitely.  Really this shouldn't even be a discussion.
