It depends on what you are looking for in a bakery. We are using Simon Lee out of Pflugerville because FI was impressed with their cakes at the bridal show in January.

We went to the bridal show to pick out a baker. We ended up choosing Classic Cakes by Lori - her cakes are DELICIOUS and the designs are beautiful. For our grooms cake she is doing the face of the Aggie ring - we saw one she had made and it was awesome. We looked at simon lee but did not see the benefit of paying extra when Lori's cakes were just as good and designs were awesome - and at a much better price.

I'm using Simon Lee. Love their cake designs. And I have never had a better tasting cake. They are on the expensive side, but if it's in your budget they're the ones to go with!!

There is another Bridal Extravaganza on Sept. 12th which would be a good time to sample a bunch of different bakers.

We are getting our cake from Lonestar Bakery (home of the famous Round Rock Donuts) Their cakes are delicious and I highly recommend them.

Kiind of late to this, but we are using Blue Note Bakery in South Austin. Their tasting was amazing and prices were very reasonable. They are letting me do each tier in different flavor combos, since I couldn't pick! I have a simple wedding cake with just buttercream and fresh flowers, but the groom's cake is going to be quite a work of art and Angie, the owner, did an an amazing design for it.

I am from the UK and blue note Bakery have been wonderful and really friendly as they know that I can only communicate via email and phone(some of the other  bakeries snobed me), going for my tasting in dec but they have kept my date for me next year!!
