And Guest Invitations

For all those that I am inviting with an "and guest" the outer envelope is just the invitees name and the inner envelope is where I put John Smith and Guest correct?

I was not planning on putting anything on the inner envelopes if its "self explanatory" on the outer (ex. Mr. and Mrs. John Smith). Is this right/ok to do? My printer is not the greatest and I already lost a few envelopes last night! Thanks ladies for the help.

    I am writing on each of the inside envelopes, just in case they have kids and "lose" the outer envelope.

    As for "and guest" - I am doing exactly what you said above.

    The only people for my wedding getting guests are engaged and married couples and I know their names so I'll just put both of their names

    If you're doing double envelopes, then put the person you're inviting 's name on the outer envelope and then put Mr./Mrs. Last Name and Guest on the inner envelope.

    I am not doing the inner envelopes as any guests will be on the outer envelope.  I would personally afraid to just put and guest in case they bring someone I wasn't hoping for but I can understand if you don't know the person's SO name.
