Sharing Rentals

I was just contacted by the couple getting married at my venue the day after mine to see if I'd be interested in sharing rentals.  Has anyone done this before, or plan on doing it for their wedding?  I am wondering how to go about coordinating the costs/payment.

    I wish I could share!  What an awesome idea!  (Especially if you know your wedding if first, so you can make sure everything is set).  Could you write up a contract between the two of you stating what you will share?  (I wouldn't tell the vendors if you didn't need to because they may jack up the price).  Also, if she's local, maybe you could both go to see whatever you'll be sharing and say she's your friend.

    Sounds like a great way to save some money!  Wish I could share with someone!

    I think that is great idea to reduce costs.  It will take some coordination, but can work if your vendors are allowing the items to be there over the two days.  Depending on the rentals, you could pay for one item and she for the other if they are from different companies, or one person pay for everything and then be paid back by the other.  I would definitely write a contract of some sort so if you don't get paid you have something to go back to.

    I've been trying to get ahold of the couples getting married on August 30th and September 2nd at the Branford House in Groton so I can discuss rental sharing, but so far I haven't heard from them.  I think it's a great way to cut down on costs, especially with tent and chair rentals!
