My FI got a teaching job today. It's just a maternity leave position for only 8 weeks but at least it's something. Plus, it's a way for the principal to see what a great teacher he is and maybe if there is a full time opening in the future she will hire him. It's at the school I work at. It's a Catholic school and the pay is only $75 a day but it's steady work and right now he's only subbing and tutoring.

We were supposed to go skiing in Vermont next week but he has to start on Monday so we posponed our trip until Dec. 27. There will be way more trails open which is great. The only downside is we have to pay extra since it's considered holiday week.

    Thank you. There may be an opening for 4th grade next year so I'm hoping he gets that. Then we can get good benefits and start trying for a baby.

    Send him the congrats! I hope that it does give him some connections as well. I know a teacher who basically stayed on the payroll at my professional semster placement, and kept taking all of the maternity leaves.
