Rehearsal dinner locations in or around Geneva

Hi all,

We're looking for a restaurant to host our rehearsal dinner for about 35-40 people.  Right now, we're considering Belhurst and Halsey's.  Those are just thoughts at the moment though because we've never been to or eaten at either.

We would consider places just outside Geneva if they're special (extraordinary food, beautiful view, etc.)

Thanks!

My favorite restaurant in Geneva, BY FAR, is Ports Cafe. They have amazing food and its a cute restaurant.

Oh and I forgot to add, the food at the Belhurst isn't anything great. Their sunday brunch is good but the dinner isn't anything special.

We're getting married at Ventosa so that's out. I will look into Glenora. Thanks!

    Sorry, forgot about that.
Also, I second PP that Belhurst isn't anything special.  It's a cool building/atmosphere... but their food really wasn't that great (at least for the outrageous prices they charge).

We're also considering The Cobblestone Restaurant.

I've been away  for a funeral for a few days.. sorry I usual post on these G-town questions!
Here are some other ideas -
We used to always do private parties at Nonna's Trattoria - it has a nice sized private room and decent prices - good Italian.
Torrey Park is newer I haven't eaten there but heard good reviews, (it's owned by Club 86/Bagel's&Cakes for those of you getting your cakes from Lori!)
Emile's is also good - it's on the edge of town heading toward Waterloo.

For our rehearsal dinner we rented a summer home on the lake for the weekend and plan on having a bbq of sorts there.   My FI mom wants to pay and is afraid a restaurant will be too much for her.  Meg, the owner of Ventosa, has a number of rental properties. Which helped with accommodations for the wedding party and immediate family.

smclardy - That sounds like an awesome idea! Can you PM me more info? Did you rent it directly through the Ventosa owners?

Crows Nest is right up the road from Ventosa and has a nice deck over the water that might be a nice spot for your rehersal dinner, fun nightlife during the summer with bands and a nice bar which  would be nice for your guests who want to socialize for the evening.  I also LOVE Nonna's as already recommended.   I try to stop in theire for a meal everytime I am back in the Geneva area.
