Dominican Republic resorts...pu*ta cana vs cap cana?

Any advice for DR all-inclusives??? We are planning our 1st anniversary trip! We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and loved it but are looking to check out somewhere new. Anyone that has been to Dreams, Excellence, Secrets....recommendations would be appreciated! Also, wondering about the location and travel time to the airport....

I got married at the Zoetry Agua resort in P*nta Cana. It was fabulous! There are only 51 suites vs. 200 at Excellence and 600+ at Dreams. The best part is that there are no buffets at Zoetry. All food is cooked to order. The room service menu is extensive and if you want something that's not on the menu, they will go out of their way to get it for you. While we were there, we walked down the beach and saw Excellence. The beach was very crowded and the water was rougher there. Zoetry has a reef that results in calm water on their beach. Plus the beach at Zoetry was kept much cleaner than at the other properties we saw. We also went to Dreams one night and we didn't care for it that much, mainly because it was so big and loud. They do however have a very cute, vegas style show and the staff were very nice.

Most of the resorts are at least 45 minutes from the airport. Cabs are ridiculously expensive if you want to go into town. I really enjoyed my time in P*nta Cana and will return. Don't bother exchanging money into Dominican pesos as the US dollars are accepted and preferred everywhere.

OMG we stayed at Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana and were in LOVE!! It is ten mins from the airport and gorgeous. Cap Cana is more luxurous whereas Pvunta is not as safe. We were happy staying at our resort and doing excursions in Pvunta.
