Ceremony Decoration

Hello!!

I am having a slight decoration dilemma and would like some opinions :)

I'm having my ceremony and reception in the same place. And although the hall is gorgeous with a beautiful view (which they also decorate) I would still like something to differentiate the ceremony from the reception.

Only thing is it has to be easy to take down / move out of the way, while we do cocktail hr and some pictures they will be moving the ceremony site over to the reception (which they have said takes them 15 mins). I would like it to be on the cheaper side but i cannot think of any ideas....

Thank you, any suggestions would be very helpful!!

Re: Ceremony Decoration

  • what about a canopy or archway? I am having my florist do a 2-pole canopy (as opposed to 4 which is bigger but more expensive). I also have a white aisle runner, which was like $20 to rent. I am also having the ceremony in the same room so I wanted to add something extra for the ceremony without spending too much money.
  • I was also going to suggest an archway.  Or a few large arrangements in big pots.  Something to define the ceremony area, where the bride/groom/officiant/wedding party will stand.

Are the guests going to be seated at their dinner tables or will they switch over seats from ceremony seating to dinner seating during cocktail hour?

    Some ideas:

  • The chairs will be switched over afterwards....

I love the arch way, know of anywhere to get them for cheap? I looked on Kijiji in my area with little luck.. im in the Kitchener Waterloo Area

I would check Party Packagers - they have a big wedding section and probably have a cheap one.  The ones I've seen come in pieces and you snap them together.  Can wrap them with little Christmas lights or garland or whatever if you want.

If you wanted to rent one, Roy-Al Rentals is close to you, and so is Party Time Rentals.

Are you having a decorator come to do linens/centerpieces/lighting? They would likely also be able to supply one.
