Best Downtown Baltimore Hotel for Guests?

Hi Knotties,

I'm having a bit of a problem finding the best hotel to block for my October wedding. The one I thought would be the most affordable seems to be the priciest. The best of the bunch price wise is FAR from anything the guests could do to amuse themselves.

Have you found any really good hotels for your guests Downtown? Care to share?

Thanks! Smile

The most reasonable one I found was the Fairfield Inn. It's kind of at the corner of Pratt and President, so it's really close to the harbor and little Italy. It doesn't sound very exciting, but the website makes it look like a pretty nice hotel.

There is a courtyard marriott right behind the new waterfront marriott that is nice as well.

Where downtown are you talking about?  There's a Hampton Inn right by Camden Yards (next to PIckles Pub, if you know where that is) that my university puts students up in, so I imagine the pricing is reasonable, and it's pretty nice.  There are a bunch of options for food within walking distance and if there's a home game going on you could try getting them tickets!

    Thanks ladies.

I'm looking in the area near Lexington Market. I'm from out of town so I'm not sure what all the downtown neighborhoods are called. :)

What rate did they quote you? The one on the website is a bit much for our guests.

We visited the Peabody Court which overlooks the Washington Monument in Mt. Vernon Square.  It's close to our wedding site and fairly close to the Inner Harbor and Downtown.  And it's across the street from The Walters.  Pretty reasonable prices.

Where exactly is your wedding? We booked rooms at the Brookshire Suites ($199/night but they don't charge you for any rooms not booked, and it's in June), which is on the corner of Light St and...Fayette? It's about 2 blocks from the Harbor. We also did a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn, which is in Harbor East ($99/night). There is a lot to do in both of those areas, and depending on where your wedding is, it's an easy and cheap cab ride.

My wedding is at the Westminster Hall. I just checked the Hilton Garden Inn and the lowest listed price was $161. I wonder if football season is affecting the pricing.

You should try actually calling a couple of hotels and asking them what sort of group rate they can give you (and make sure you ask whether that rate is with or without tax included).   Also, a hotel which provides some sort of free breakfast would probably be appreciated by your guests :)

The Hampton Inn is within walking distance of Lexington Market (I do it often, since the subway stop I use is at Lexington Market) but it might be a little much in heels.  You may be right about football season jacking up the prices...

I second the Hampton Inn for that location. It's a great hotel. Other options are the Marriott Camden Yards, Holiday Inn, or Hilton.

I second Ruffian on all the hotels she listed.  I went to school and work right across the street from Westminister Hall (Universiry of MD Medical), and those 4 hotels are the closest you're going to get.  Definitely call for group rates, because what you see online is the regular room price.  When you reserve a block of rooms the rooms are a lot cheaper.  Good luck!!!

Also, I know someone who got married at Westminister Hall last spring, and they blocked off rooms at the Tremont, which is actually where I'm having my wedding and of course have blocked off several rooms.  Blocks of rooms at the Tremont are $109/night, and it's realy pretty much a straigh shot down the street from Westminister, just in a different direction from the hotels around Camden Yards.  Just something to think about- GL!!!!
