NWR: Are you or FI friends with an ex?

I was wondering if anyone here has remained friends with an ex or if your FI has? I have remained friends with my last ex and contact each other from time to time to catch up and see how we are doing. He always asks about my wedding plans and always tells me he is truly happy for me. We live in different states and we communicate ever now and then. FI has never really understood how can I remain friends with someone I used to date.

Anyone in the same situation? Would it bother you if your FI remained friends with an ex?

I'm not friends with any of my exes lol but my FI has remained friends with his first girlfriend (they dated from like 14 to 16) and even went to her wedding. They've recently fallen a little out of touch, but she's pregnant now and they remained friends after the break up and grew up around all the same friends. I actually think it's very nice, and she's a very sweet lady. We're inviting her to the wedding but she is due about 2 weeks before so she won't be attending

Neither of us are friends with any exes.

I think it's fine to remain friendly! I know I'd be jealous, though, of FI's exes if they still stayed in touch but that's just me, lol.

Funny this come up today, I was only in one pretty serious relationship before my FI and the break up dragged out for months with me being stupid and him not knowing what he wanted out of life. Anyway long story short I haven't had any contact with him since FI and I started dating. We are still friends on facebook but literally I NEVER see anything with his name in it ever, he never goes on and I almost forgot we were even connected there. Well I'm getting married Sunday and last night FI and I were sitting at my computer doing some stuff and I opened my facebook and there he was tagged in a pic with someone. FI flipped a little bit that I was still FB friends with him but he didn't care that much, since he knows we haven't had any contact at all. Just thought it was funny that 1, ex's name came up last night and 2, this thread was posted today.

oh and at my Bach party this weeking he was being discussed as just past stuff in my life..funny funny!

My college boyfirend and I are still friends. Actually, I'm BEST friends with his sister who is one of my BM's and I was one of hers. Ryan and I dated for two years but were always more friends than lovers. We did not even have sex while we dated so it was even easier for us to remain friends once we broke up. He is a wonderful man and is now married with a baby. Whenever I travel to Dallas for work I see he and his wife. HIs wife is super cool and I would be best friends with her if we lived close, They are just great people. FI has met them both and has been to dinner with us when we have been in Dallas. FI's comment- I just don't see how y'all dated?! LOL!! Cracks me up. I was invited to their wedding, did not attend because of the travel and we are extending the invite to them as well. I think we are just lucky. I'm not firends with any other exes though...

Glad to know I am not the only one. I don't know if I would call it jealousy or uneasiness that FI feels over me being friends with this particular ex. I do know why he may feel uneasy because this ex of mine commented on a photo of mine on FB and he was the very first comment of the picture saying I was beautiful as always and I don't think it sat well with FI (we were already engaged). I think FI believes my ex still has something for me but I doubt it because he fell head over heels with a girl. Sadly, their relationship hasn't been able to work even after trying it twice.

I am still friends with an ex of mine but we speak every now and then. When he found out I got engaged he called me to congratulate me and said FI was a lucky guy and wishes me all the happiness of the world. All was good until he asked if he was invited to the wedding....and I was like....."uhhhh..." lol! He was serious about it too and asked a few more times in future conversations. Of course, he isn't invited because I wouldn't want my FH to feel awkward having my ex at our wedding. Ultimately, I did tell him it was family and close friends only (which was true at the time) and he understood.

My FI does not stay in contact with any of his ex's and I am pretty happy he doesn't. It's not because of jealousy because I have nothing to fear but his ex's were just witches!

I am not friends with any exes. Fi has a couple exes are friends with his cousin funny enough so if and when he does see them its pretty much acquaintances. I did see one for his cousins son first birthday but it was no biggie its pretty obvious were together he introduced and it was no big deal.

If they were friend friends I might have pangs of jealousy but I trust him. Besides he didn't date much in high school we got together in 11th grade and the rest is history lol.

Neither of us are friends with our exes. That would be too wierd especially considering my XH married FI's XW this month. We always say that they are an ex for a reason. We didn't want them in our lives before so why would we want to be friends now.

neither one of us are friends with ex's. to be honest i'm glad it's like that because fi has a much more extensive past than myself so i'd have more crap to upset me or get me all bent outta shape. but he does sometimes talk about them and as soon as i give the IDGAF look he stops.
